Administration papers: World War II

Contains correspondence concerning the use of the museum's clock tower by the homeguard, protection of windows, multiple memorandums from the Clerk Of the Council regarding staffing, wages, fire prevention and the Government evacuation scheme. Also includes details of items loaned to the museum by the War Office and an official Ministry of Food buying permit for sugar for the museum bees with an envelope marked 'sugar permit for bees, August 1948'. The sugar is locked in cupboard in Zoologists room. Also included is a printed flyer announcing the re-opening of the museum after its closure due to war damage (Sep 1946).
