The New Rooms at the Horniman Museum

The article mentions an Egyptian mummy over three-thousand years old in the Egyptian Room. The article’s author also notes the additions to the musical instrument collection including a lengthy description of the set of bellows in the Organ Room. The article also describes a seventeenth century “German cordophon”. The new additions to the insectarium are noted in the article with a similar description to that in 096. There is also a description of the converted China Room which has become the first Zoological Room; the author notes the collection of animals within the Zoological Saloon including the animals mentioned in 096 such as the “Rocky Mountain sheep and goats” but additionally, the author describes the new collection of birds which are said to be “all beautifully set up in a very realistic manner”.
