War bonnets were worn by distinguished men in each warrior society. Wearing a war bonnent meant a claim of a special ability, accomplishment and bravery in battle. This modern copy is made in the traditional style and would be worn nowadays in pow wow ceremonies and dancing. The feathers are turkey since eagles are protected.
