Leather and fur protective helmet 'Montera' imitating Spanish conquistadors helmets, used in "Tinku", a kind of ritual fighting.

Tinku is a traditional Bolvian dance from the Potosi region in Bolvia, by the Aymara people. Tinku meaning 'meeting-encounter.' Began as a form of ritualistic combat when the Spanish conquistadors enslaved ingidenous people and forced them to fight. Tinku dance costumes are colourful and decorative. Men attend tinkys wearing traditional monteras, helmet like hats made of thick leather, resembling helmets worn by conquistadors.
