'Ud (oud), lute. The ribs are of alternate coloured woods, separated by an inlaid beading of light wood. The table is of straw coloured pine. The neck is unfretted with a formal inlaid pattern on the fingerboard. Three roses (one large and two small) of darker brown wood with a white eye. The bridge, through which the strings are threaded, is of mid-brown wood with an ivory plate inside. Pegs for ten strings in an elongated curving peg-box.
