Taxidermy case of adult female Red Kite. According to Edward Hart, writing on 12 April 1927, '(No 1): adult female. Shot by T. Footner on Stanpit Marsh, Christchurch, 1851. The last that was seen, or ever may be seen in this district, flew over quite close to a sportsman whilst walking a root field for partridges, October 26th 1884. Sexes alike; summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by Barron (taxidermist) and re-mounted by me'.
