Taxidermy case of three adult male, three adult female, one immature male and two young Atlantic Puffin. According to Edward Hart, writing on 6 May 1927, '(No 1): adult male, January 1886, winter plumage; (no 2): adult male, January 1880, winter plumage; (no 3): immature male, November 1896; (no 4): adult male, dark faced, October 1891, winter plumage; (no 5): adult female, May 1883, summer plumage; (no 6): adult female, January 1890, winter plumage; (no 7): adult female, small bill, November 4th 1894, winter plumage; two young, June 15th 1895. Shot by me off the Ledge, near the Needles, Christchurch Bay. The young I found swimming in the sea, having left their nesting holes. Sexes alike; summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
