Taxidermy case of two adult male and two adult female Black Grouse. According to Edward Hart, writing on 6 May 1927, 'Bottom left (no 1): adult female, 1873; top left (no 2): adult male,1881; top right (no 3): adult female, 1881; bottom right (no 4): adult male, 1882; nest and eggs. Shot by me on St. Catherine's Hill and Town Common, Christchurch. Sexes differ; summer and winter plumage, male differs, female the same. Mounted by me'.
