Sample of rectagular cream barkcloth with painted decoration in black and brown. The textile is seemingly from a larger tapa as the cut fringing is only on one longer side, and some of the patterns appear to be cut. The painted patterning consists of 3 borders and a centre panel. The outer border consists of 2 dotted lines separated and bordered by solidly-coloured lines. The middle border contains linked diamond motifs. Each diamond consists of 2 differently patterned triangles with toothed outlines. The inner border contains small diagonals framed by solidly coloured lines. The centre panel is framed by an inward-facing dentate pattern with a toothed outline. It is decorated with larger 8-pointed stars and a floral motif, as well as smaller floral/star-shaped motifs.
