It depicts Elizabeth, Lady Conyngham (1769-1861), mistress of the Prince Regent from 1819 until his death in 1830. She urged him to oppose emancipation. She is also said to have had an affair with Tsar Nicholas I of Russia during his visit to London in 1816. She is shown dressed as a man, carrying a blunderbuss.
