A headring made of cane. There are engraved and patterned circles of mother of pearl and thread. Worn by older men.

Label: one Wellcome Collection label and one price label.

(I am not familiar with this type of headring and am not certain that it is Zulu (or Nguni), as the present cataloguing suggests. The Zulu headring (isicoco) is usually constructed in a similar fashion as outlined in the above description, but without the addition of mother-of-pearl discs (buttons?). I would like better images or to see this object first hand. CE.)
