
Folding screen panel with a dark wooden frame, which has some damage, and six decorative procelain tiles inset. The panel stands on two feet, and has a scrolled porcelain apron, which is detached but present and is decorated with dragon scrolls in underglaze blue. Three tiles have underglaze blue decoration of bat (fu) and musical stone chime (qing), which form a pun for happiness and celebration, flanked by two lotus blossom. Alternated between these blue and white tiles are two larger tiles with overglaze polychrome enamel decoration. The upper tile depicts a junior official conversing with a senior official, who is fanned by a male attendant in a terraced garden, with a poem inscribed above. The lower tile depicts Zhang Guolao, one of the Eight Daoist Immortals, sitting by a rock and underneath a tree in a terraced garden. He is holding his emblem, 'yugu', a musical instrument in the shape of a bamboo tube with two rods.
