Gown or shift, of thin cream cotton with repeating motif in discontinuous supplementary weft in the lower part, and smaller versions around the neck opening. The neck is round with a narrow collar, decorated on the collar and to either side of the vertical opening below with metal thread embroidery. The end parts of the sleeves are also decorated with a small repeating supplementary weft motif and larger motifs close to the edge which are themselves embellished with metal thread embroidery. The garment is made up of rectangular sections of cloth stitched together to make a T shaped shift. Length 1372mm (54").
