Very large, rectangular barkcloth decorated with stencilled and painted pigment in brown and black. The decoration consist of a set of stripes, and a band which divides the textile into 4 large sections. The 2 sections either side of the central band contain the same pattern. Each contains painted diagonals with stencilled, cream star motifs, surrounded by stencilled diagonals decorated with various patterns. On one half these are contained within small rectangular areas. On the other half they form chevrons or paired diagonals. The set of stripes contains smaller sub-sets, and a slightly wider stripe decorated with various stencilled patterns. The band is decorated with stripes alternating in colour. Both shorter sides are framed by linked cream diamonds on a black border.
