Treble recorder made of rosewood. Stamped 'ARNOLD/DOLMETSCH/1' on the head joint and the middle joint. Stamped '1' on the foot joint. This instrument is considered to be the first commercial recorder produced by Arnold Dolmetsch from his perfected design.

The recorder is a duct flute that is classified according to the system of Hornbostel and Sachs as an 'open flute with internal duct, with fingerholes'.
