Circular black dancer's hat, irah-irahan, with gold decorations and a protruding back wing. The hat is formed of papier mache in the shape of a dome with a smaller dome above it, covered in black fabric, perhaps silk. Embellished with gilt leather shapes around the edge, with decorative pierced details. Gilt wooden bud feature at top. Four gilt leather pieces with incised designs protrude around the upper dome. The back wing has a gilt incised design. Accompanying label reads: 'made of silk, leather, wood'. An old display label reads: 'Hat of a dancer [silk, leather with wooden top]. Poor condition.
