The Wishe Woman

Rectangular hanging in the form of a woven cotton textile decorated with wax resist imagery entitled 'The Wishe Woman'. The textile has a selvedge on one longer side, and is unfinished at the 3 others. The decoration consists of a white frame surrounding a female figure on the right. Another figure might be on the left-hand side with its feet near the upper arm of the main figure. The outer of the double outlines, and the larger areas have remained white against the blue-black ground.
