Roof of a model palanquin. Curved roof, with a horizontal bar along the top for carrying. The Paulownia mon or crest on the roof is associated with the Tokugawa family. There is a blue and white tasselled cord wrapped around the bar. It is lacquered black on the inside, and red with gold detailing on the outer surface.
