Flask, Hellenistic or Roman. Rich red colour clay. Hard firing. Globular bodied sagging to base. Simple ring foot. Single angular vertical handle – pulled. Three flutes on outside. High burnish ? exterior – probably thin paint giving rich shiny coralline red. Bright red paint inside long slightly flaring mouth. White and yellow added paint decoration below fillet of join of neck to body (rays) three bands on upper part of body and foliage below rim. Height 177 mm, height of neck 56 mm.
