The frame of the covered basket is constructed of six segments made from strips of ivory, which are carved with circular motifs, the spaces in between filled by thin sheets of ivory. Each sheet has a finely pierced background of horizontal strips, against which figures in landscape with pavilions are carved in relief . The dome-shaped lid is surmounted with a carved pomegranate knob on a flattened top, which is embellished with openwork of scrolling flowers. An overhead loop handle attached to the mouth of the basket, carved with ribbed pattern resembling bamboo. The legs are incised with simple linear details, with a carved foliate scroll running between the feet.
