Romania Negatives: Beryl de Zoete Collection

35mm black and white negative strips featuring images taken in Romania by Beryl de Zoete in the mid to late 1930s. de Zoete photographed folk dance and costumes worn by villagers in towns between Bukovina, Transylvania and Oltenia.
The negatives were donated to the Horniman Museum in 1962 after de Zoete's death and were first printed up and shown to the public in 2000 at the University of Brighton (Taylor, The Study of Dress History, 2002).
