Roughly rectangular Coptic(?) linen and wool fragment decorated with red, green and purple bands and cruciform motifs on a cream-coloured ground. The textile appears to be part of a larger tabby-woven cloth with a single selvedge along one shorter side. Above the line of unwoven warp is a thin band consisting of 2 coloured lines. The 3 cruciform motifs either side of the wider bands are worked in 2 coloured threads simultaneously. The bands each contain a wider purple centre framed by narrow green bands edged with red dotted lines.
