The Cat's Paw!

Satirical cartoon depicting King William IV as a cat, being coaxed by Lord Chancellor Henry Brougham (1778 - 1868) as a monkey to pull the hot iron of reform from a blazing fire; a portrait of Whig Prime Minister Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey (1764 - 1845) above the fireplace. These politicians were among the principal architects of the 1832 Great Reform Act.There is a satirical poem below the image. Probably published by Marianne Humphreys of St James's St.
