Carved wooden panel from Odisha, India, date unknown. The panel depicts a seated deity, possibily Shiva, with a tall headdress and multiple arms. The proper left leg of the figure is bent underneath the body while the right leg is extended below. The figure has four arms shown in different positions; the proper left arm supports an antelope, the proper right arm holds an axe. The proper lower left hand is positioned palm outwards, fingers pointed downwards, in the varada mudra pose. The proper right lower hand is positioned palm outwards, fingers pointing upwards, in the abhaya mudra pose. The figure is framed by an arch with a number of carved wood figures above. The middle figure resembles a monster - possibly kirtimukha - with large eyes and an open mouth. There are two further figure to either side, both resembling birds.
