Painted and carved wooden mask representing Klono (Klana), with gold crown and very pointed nose, highly decorated with considerable skill in the carving of the hair and fine detail in some of the painted elements. Band around the base of the crown, decorated with 5 floral shapes. Hair black and carved into locks with a gilt square on each lock. Beneath the hair is a gold line which echoes the shape of the hair. Eyebrows are indicated in thin black lines indicating hairs. The eyeballs are round and prominent, with black pupils and red irises. Apertures in lower half of each eye. Gilt squares decorate the forehead, top of nose, side of face, moustache and beard. Nose long and pointed, with nostrils indicated by apertures. A ?leather? painted black moustache is attached with a bamboo pin at either side. Six teeth in upper jaw, none in lower jaw. Teeth evenly spaced. Central four are gold, outer teeth black. Aperture for the mouth, which is outlined in black. Facial hair indicated below lower lip and in nostrils by black lines. Further facial hair indicated at bottom of face. Beneath the chin is a black, triangular part of beard, decorated with gold squares and flanked by two long painted formations of facial hair, again decorated with gilt squares. There is a long inscription in Javanese on the inside of the mask.
