Boot sole made of grass and hessian. Consisting of layered pads of hessian, sewn through with elephant plant grass (as used on headbands) - the first stage of a bootsole. Made in 1982 y a Tibetan/Bhotia from the north-eastern border area, now working in Kathmandu. If grass is unavailable, sisal string from the bazaar may be used. 12"x6" (305 x 150)
