Monguor (Tu) woman’s pocket strip. Pinned over breast and amulet. Formed of rectangular strip of pink cloth with three pockets made of applied white fabric decorated with stain stitch embroidered floral motifs chiefly in greens and pinks. Each pocket is edged with blue dentate embroidered motifs and reinforced inside with dark blue fabric and newspaper with Chinese text. Pockets divided by two pairs of pale green ribbon with darker green and red floral motifs. Towards the top a wider band of blue ribbon with white green yellow and red decoration. Yellow fringe at bottom. Collected from Xining, Qinghai, China, August 2003.
