Hat or helmet worn by the bodyguard of the Maharaja of Sikkim. Tubular flat-topped hat with a slight, curled brim. Made from basketry plaited in a variety of styles over Mica reinforcement. Cockade in the front slightly to the left; crescent and feather tube, pewter. Insignia brass. the tube holds a bundle of bird feather quills which rise above the hat.
