Marionette representing a manual labourer, with earthenware head, forearms and legs. The figure wears a long blue shirt and patternwoven blue trousers under a short black tunic, which fastens at the front centre with glass beads. The head is painted with a black flat circular hat, and there is a single plait at the back of human hair, with blue cord plaited into it.

Collected by the donor's aunt, who was a medical missionary in China for over fifty years.
