Poster announcing events at a free opening of the Horniman Musuem and Gardens on 22 June 1897 from 10am to 10pm for Commemoration or Queen's Day during Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The poster reads that Frederick John Horniman would be hosting groups of boys and girls from Forest Hill Industrial Home and girls from the Dulwich Lampson Home for a sports day event featuring races and prizes. The poster also states that the gardens would be illuminated at dusk (about 8pm) and that fireworks would be let off at 9.30pm. The bottom corner of the poster reads 'R.Quick (Curator), Superintendent of Sports'.
