According to Edward Hart, writing on 6 April 1927, 'Top (no 1): adult male, November 1864, winter plumage; bottom right (no 2): adult male, December 1911, winter plumage. Both caught by F. Frampton, bird catcher, at Bure, Christchurch. Sexes differ, summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
