sample (textiles); textile

Rectangular piece of cotton textile. It is embroidered predominantly with bright yellow and some pink and red synthetic (?) yarns. The framed central panel contains three wavy lines. The spaces between are filled with pink and red dots. The two outer panels framing the centre one have very similar embroidery motifs, worked in the same colours. These include yellow flower and foliate motifs. One of the longer sides (the non selvedge side) has a series of pin holes suggesting the fabric was once gathered.
