Rama

Shadow puppet, tholu bommalata , representing probably either Lakshman or Rama his brother, the main character of the Ramayana epic. One arm articulated at the elbow and wrist, otherwise made on one piece with an extra flap sewn on the bottom. He is wearing elaborate necklaces and head-dress in a seated position. Decorated with polychrome pigments and pierced detailing. Mounted with a bamboo stick not part of the acquisition.
