
Colt .44 'Peacemaker' pistol, with six chambers, gate loading. The metal parts have been painted black, rather than blued; the grip is of dark brown wood. The pistol has been adjusted to prevent its usage - the trigger spring disengaged and the barrel stopped. Bought by donor second hand in 1911. Stamped 51418; on the trigger guard and butt plate; Pat. Sept. 19 1871, July 2 '72, Jan 19 '75 below the chamber on the left hand side. Single action army revolver.
