Feather headdress (Bedamuni: gogosi). A headdress made from the feathers of a cassowary. In the middle of the headdress is fixed a cassowary’s quill, on which are stuck a red seed (pôpia, Erythrina sp) and a barega (hornbill) feather. These headdresses are worn by men when dressing up for formal occasions and war parties. This example was bought from Aniato.
