Pair of child's raised sandals for a girl, of komachi type. They consist of a wooden platform lacquered red with gold flowers, with a pellet bell suspended under the instep. There is a maker's label on the sole, inscribed 'Tokyo Koishkawa Suidou-Machi', with a picture of a deer and the shop's name, 'Kashima-ya' and 'trade mark' in English. The sandals are lacquered black beneath the central part and in the toe area. There is a metal cover in flower shape over the place where thong comes through below. The sole is woven straw, with a thong (hanao) of orange silk with a brown design wrapped around a string of hemp.
