Two illustrations of Female Donor portrait. Copied from mural paintings in two Mogao caves, near Dunhuang in Gansu province. The illustration on the left depicts a female donor dressed in a red cloak over a long robe, standing in front of a female attendant. (Cave 296, Sui dynasty: 581-618 AD). The illustration on the right depicts a kneeling female donor holding a lotus blossom with both hands. (Cave 329, Early Tang period: 618-712 AD). Artist: Duan Wen-jie. Printed in colour on paper.
