moccasin

One of a pair of man's shoes, of moccasin type, made from of one piece of leather and decorated with floral motifs. A strip of leather is interwoven in vertical slits in the material of the shoe, along the sides as far as the heel. It emerges at the heel, and is attached to a further strip, which crosses the foot and emerges at the back as a strap. The strap is tightened around the ankles and calves.
