
Rectangular panel of cloth, based on a geringsing design, handwoven from a warp of commercially spun maroon cotton yarn, dyed in artificial dyestuffs, the main design in weft ikat of beige, red and maroon yarn which may be homespun. The main symmetrical design is formed in weft ikat around a central star shape in cream set against a maroon design shape on a red ground. To either side smaller star and square shapes. At each end bands of smaller star motifs bounded to either side by narrow bands of dentate shapes.
