Carved wooden stay busk, smooth on the reverse, and decorated with incised patterns. From the top these are rows of dentate motifs, four quatrefoil motifs set within squares, a heart shape decorated with dentate notches, and a curvilinear vegetal design. At the bottom is the date 1781, with the initials MB and SH above.
