Scene from the Dahamsonda Jataka

Stone panel with scene from the Dahamsonda showing on the left the god Sakkraia in the form of a monster. On the right King Dahamsonda is seated under a tree, in the branches of which is a squirrel. Behind the demon is a tree with a monkey in its branches, and below an animal which may be a lion. There is a Sinhalese inscription at the base.

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
