Marked: Workshop order book 3rd June 1870-Jan 29th 1872. Apparently the orders from Distin & Co at 9 10 Great Newport Street to their workshops, probably reflecting orders from Boosey & Co at 24 Holles Street and at New York. This book arranged in sections, respectively:
Instruments: serial numbers 10814-11701 (cornets) and 21855-24537 (other brass), 3 Jun 1870-29 Apr 1872.
Pistons: piston numbers 11943-14114, 16 Jun 1870-30 Apr 1872.
Water keys, card stands, card stand sockets, stays etc, screws, sundry machine turnings, crooks slides etc, sundries, plush lined cases are also given, see index in the front, listed separately. The columns on the "Instruments" pages are: Date / given out, Date / received, No of / Piston, No of / Inst, Description, Class, Workman's Name, Date / given to / polish, Entered / in / stock, Remarks & Cost.
