This period is characterised by small batches with quick turn over. Reed Instruments and Flutes were slow moving: more remained in stock than were moved. There were many saxhorns, and some ventil horns.

There was no stock taking at 1 Jan 1869, only 6 and a half months after the takeover, but thereafter stock taking was annual.

Stock taking at 1 Jan 1870 first lists cornets at 31 Dec 1869, e.g. 10118-10126, 10610-10615, plus two pages of Brass Instruments and Sundries. Many were "sold" to Boosey & Co or carried forwards to 1871.
