Letter in regard to glass found in 1894, author believes to have come from east of Jordan Valley, the land of Bashan. The item was of importance in pre-Christian times, used in the tombs of leading members of the communities of great merchants and chieftains. Notes in red at top of letter state ancient glass from Palestine £50.
