412.132-62 Sets of free reeds with flexible air reservoir

Prototype bass concertina. Anglo-German system. Serial number 95348. Label absent, but the instrument has 'JJ Vickers' hand straps, and large ink stamps: 'no 866' inside. 11.5" long x 9" AF [across front?], in stretched hexagon format. Flat ebony ends, simple frets, bevelled, red shiny paper backing, right-hand end bolts absent. 35 keys: 15 left-hand, 19 right-hand, plus 1 air. Four sealed key holes on right-hand indicate modifications. Later straps, gilt embossed: 'JJ Vickers & Sons Ltd. Concertina Factory and Repairs, 80 & 82 Royal Hill, Greenwich, London SE10' secured on long hand bars with later aluminium pallets. Six-fold black leather bellows. All reeds removed. Reed pan and under action stamped in ink: 'No. 866.'
