Taxidermy mount of pied variety of European Hare (Lepus europaeus).
This taxidermy hare is an unusual variety of the European Hare. The handwriting and code written on the underside of the base reveals the hare was owned by taxidermy collector J. B. Nichols (1847-1929) and purchased by him at auction in 1925.
