Cooper at Bolderwood, New Forest, June 8th 1860; top right (no 2): immature male. Shot by me on Town Common, Christchurch, September 20th 1875; bottom right (no 3): adult female. Shot by H. Cooper at Bolderwood, New Forest, June 8th 1860. Sexes alike; summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by me'.
