Taxidermy case of adult male and adult female Red-breasted Merganser. According to Edward Hart, writing on 21 April 1927, 'Left (no 1): adult male, January 26th 1878; right (no 2): adult female, October 1879. Shot by me in Christchurch Harbour'. Sexes differ; summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by me'.
