Pedestal stand, kalat, made of red lacquered solid teak. It is used for presenting votive gifts to pagodas and monasteries. It would probably have originally had another plate-shaped piece on top. A label is stuck on which reads: 'Burmese lacquer stand used for religious offerings. Reg. no 10451. Burma. Original label lost.' There is some damage to the lower portion, and some body loss on the upper rim.
