
Folding screen panel with a dark wooden frame and six decorative procelain tiles inset. The panel stands on two feet, and has a scrolled porcelain apron decorated with dragon scrolls in underglaze blue. Three tiles have underglaze blue decoration of bat (fu) and musical stone chime (qing), which form a pun for happiness and celebration, flanked by two lotus blossom. Alternated between these blue and white tiles are two larger tiles with overglaze polychrome enamel decoration. The upper tile, which has a repair, depicts a junior official conversing with a senior official in a terraced garden, two boys standing by the balusters, and a poem inscribed above. The lower tile depicts Cao Guojiu, one of the Eight Daoist Immortals, sitting by a rock and underneath a tree in a terraced garden. He is holding his emblem in his right hand, a pair of castanets.
